    My experience with FUSION 360

My experience was perfect, I am not really into the 3d design world, but I learned this software for university and to solve some everyday problems. It took me many hours to get familiar with all the tools and options, but after learning it, it's pretty simple to use it. I have used it to design pieces to prepare some things, and it worked great.

    Pros

With Fusion it is possible to create new things from scratch and make them real. Once you know how to use the cad and 3D functions, it is possible to model any kind of piece in many materials; then it can be rendered or transferred to other pieces of software to manufacture it. It is not easy at all to learn it from scratch, because it has many features, but a great advantage it that there is a huge amount of learning material on YouTube or in the adobe community.

    Cons

The main drawback maybe be the price, if you don't have access to a student or enterprise account, it could be pretty expensive. Anyway, the product is extremely complete and user-friendly, so is worth it. The other point is that it is not easy at all to learn it from scratch, but the internet is plenty of learning material.

The laggy nature of the program makes it unusable

I can't recommend using Fusion as long as it isn't updated for modern hardware.

I can't recommend using Fusion as long as it isn't updated for modern hardware.

    Pros

It's a parametric design software that makes it possible to revise previously made features.

    Cons

Fusion is so incredibly slow and laggy that it's unusable. Even on a modern Mac M1, it's so laggy that it's impossible to get any work done within the software.

Fusion 360 quickly became our #1 Design software

Fusion 360 is a fantastic program at a great price. Since bringing this tool into our environment we have pretty much stopped using everything else.

    Pros

What initially drew us to Fusion 360 was the price compared to Rhino or Solidworks. However, this is a POWERFUL tool with just about every feature we could ask for.

    Cons

Our team who had previously worked with Solidworks and Rhino took to Fusion 360 very quickly. Personally, I am more of a novice on CNC. For me the learning curve was pretty steep. Ultimately I found a course on it which helped a TON.

    Alternatives Considered

    SolidWorks Premium

    Reasons for Choosing Fusion 360

Fusion 360 is an industrial class tool on par with Rhino or Solidworks for a FRACTION of the price. It has everything we could ask for. We also used Vectric Vcarve Pro for many years and Fusion 360 is MILES better than these tools.

    Switched From

    SolidWorks Premium

Reasons for Switching to Fusion 360

More powerful than VCarve Pro and much cheaper than Solidworks.
