It is the most comprehensive, detailed and straightforward HR system I have personally used, and I wholeheartedly recommend it as a user, and I imagine it is very straight forward to administrate as well given how easy to navigate it is. > > **Cons**: It is very hard to be negative / suggest improvements about workday, but I would say the one thing stopping it from being a complete user friendly system is the lack of customisation, for example there is no ability to set your own theme / colour code certain things which may cause accessibility issues for some people. Processes are logically set up -- the user is able to use the search function with what they need to accomplish, and can find what they're looking for with minimal effort/training. > > **Cons**: Workday has limited capabilities for the public safety/law enforcement field. Firstly, personnel-related processes can only be completed one at a time. For example: if I have an employee evaluation pending for someone, I cannot simultaneously request to change their supervisor, move their "cost center," or request a merit change. Depending on the industry you work in, this may not matter. For public safety -- where change is the one true constant -- this makes life difficult. We have constant overlapping status changes that cannot be reflected as one task is at the mercy of another task being completed (which in itself is at the mercy of the entire chain of command "approving" any single status change). For payroll, Workday is not immediately compatible with a 24-hour, 365-day workplace (as is the case with public safety). We have had a buildout to patch with our scheduling software that has been in progress for literal years, and it is still being worked on -- there seems to be a new issue every pay period. As far as recruiting goes, applicants needing to create a new account for every company they apply to is both messy and inconvenient. > > Workday HCM has significant incompatibilities with the public safety/law enforcement world. Transitioning to Workday has genuinely slowed our internal processes. For a more standard 9-5/40-hour work week field, it is quite possible that Workday fully meets the HCM needs with ease.
