Facile and Multi-Faceted Document Management Option
Reviewed on 10/06/2025
Pros
Box provides a wide variety of options and services to meet the needs of its clients. From storage capacity, to collaboration, to HIPAA considerations, Box's features effectively streamline file management. I also love Box's versioning. Document recovery or historical review is so easy with Box.
Cons
What I like least about Box is how extensive my "All Files" can get when multiple file or folder owners collaborate with me.

Box was incredibly simple to setup, incredibly easy to manage. The UI was fabulous. Admin backend and user management was so easy. I highly highly rate them.
Pros
Box was super easy to use for our Marketing team, we loved the data structure and that we could tag our digital assets with metadata very easily for locating items. We loved how easy it was to share with outside vendors as well.
Cons
Honestly, there wasn't much to dislike about Box. The only reason we moved away from it was that the entire rest of the organization was using Sharepoint which we have to pay for any ways and the Marketing team had stopped applying the metadata to new files which was the main reason we went with Box. If we weren't a Microsoft org, we would have stayed with Box.
Reasons for Choosing Box
Dropbox had a terrible UI, no ease of use for building our own filtering or metadata, and was frustrating to use to collaborate with external partners and internally with other teams.Switched From

Box - A long way to go
Reviewed on 23/10/2025
Pros
What I like about box is that there are ways to easily link the cloud storage from box to other non box products such as Microsoft 365.
Cons
I do not like how image/video storage works on box and the latency. If you are storing and sharing images and videos through box, it will take you a lot of time if you are looking for a specific image/video and clicking on each image, it takes so much time to load even with a very high speed internet. I guess it should have a better browsing experience.

A good tool for storing documents and sharing them with people in the company. Easily integrating with Azure Data Factory for data ingestion, which makes it a good candidate for being part of Data Science - Data Analytics stack. Some potential sync issues, depending on which side you create first a folder - local machine or on Box website - but probably fixed with the latest updates.
Pros
An optimal choice for cloud storage, the one stop place for collaborating on various documentation (including versioning). While I'm using Box both within the organization, and also for personal usage, I find it suitable and easy to use for document management, for accessing older versions when needed, and for syncing with local Box Drive. Money-wise is a good choice for a company, allowing also easy integration with other tools, e.g. creating pipelines in Azure Data Factory for ingesting data stored in Box automatically.
Cons
For personal usage, I find the free plan a bit restrictive (compared to Google Drive for instance). For the company usage, I find that sync is not always as transparent as it should, or has certain delays
