We now use free Grafana instead of 6-figure $$$ monitoring software we used to pay for, and we can monitor more systems, customize better, and get more detail than we could get with that expensive software. We monitor current and historical performance and capacity on our Dell storage arrays (ECS, XtremIO, VxFlex), Unix/Linux operating systems, and VMWare vSphere. Surprisingly, it is easier to use and gives better dashboards insight than commercial products we have paid many thousands of dollars for.
