### "Great software for MDR" — 5.0/5

> **Konstantin** | *26 January 2023* | Financial Services | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The best options personally for me: Temporary access for contractorsRemote controlFile access
>
> **Cons**: UI and Self-service portal are not user friendly
>
> We had different issues that were solved with Device Control Plus. We were under the strict compliance and Device Control helped us with that issues.

### "Reliable, Low‑Friction Device Control That Just Works" — 5.0/5

> **Joao** | *7 May 2026* | Banking | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: What I liked most about ManageEngine Device Control Plus is how reliably it enforces predictable, granular device control without disrupting users. The lightweight agent, clean audit trails, and precise USB/peripheral restrictions make it a security tool you can deploy confidently and then stop worrying about.
>
> **Cons**: What I liked least about ManageEngine Device Control Plus is that some of the deeper configuration areas — especially around driver‑level exclusions and custom device templates — can feel a bit buried and require more clicks than they should. The product is powerful, but certain advanced settings aren’t as streamlined or intuitive as the rest of the platform, so there’s a small learning curve before everything feels smooth.
>
> My overall experience with ManageEngine Device Control Plus has been genuinely positive — it delivers the kind of predictable, low‑friction device governance that makes life easier for an IT admin. Once deployed, the agent is stable, the policies apply cleanly, and the audit trails give you the visibility you need without drowning you in noise. It’s one of those tools that quietly does its job in the background, giving you confidence that USB and peripheral risks are under control while your users continue working without disruption.

### "Works exactly as advertised" — 4.0/5

> **Kris** | *25 November 2025* | Machinery | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It's easy to set up and implement. Setting up policies to match exactly what you are scoping out is pretty simple as well.
>
> **Cons**: It does not give you much help when you run into individual agent installation issues. I have learned to just do it manually if it doesn't work out after a day or two.
>
> I have used all of their products so and find most of them easy to use and very helpful. As for Device Control Plus, I like the policy setups and notifications being robust.

### "Great Control of USB Devices" — 5.0/5

> **Verified Reviewer** | *13 December 2022* | Construction | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The ability to manage what USB devices we allow to be accessed when inserted into one of our machines. This has stopped users using memory sticks which haven't been checked over by ourselves in IT, to ensure the stick hasn't been given to them from a third party and then plugged into our machines which could affect our network. However with our specific memory sticks, it allows us to be sure what is given out is secure. Also the ability to control what type of device is allowed - microphones, webcams, mice and keyboards etc. This has allowed us to stop users being able to access their mobile phone storage SD cards, however keeping the charging function when plugged in.
>
> **Cons**: It would have been great to have a list of devices which we could add to the blacklist, prior to making the policy live. This would allow us to allow all specific types of devices except X, Y and Z. Otherwise it needs to be set as block all, and then the user can request for their device to be whitelisted. Or when a device is plugged in, the software then detects that piece of hardware and adds it to the list. Even if it was a default list of many different vendors.
>
> It's a great piece of kit, we've been trialing it for less than 12 months, so it's free up to a specific amount of devices. The reason is due to not having enough time at current within our small IT department to put together a more specific policy which would impact the business less without causing ourselves a higher amount of work from users requesting access to X, Y and Z. But the software has been easy to use and has so far been great.

### "Admin Friendly" — 5.0/5

> **Hibbathullah** | *2 March 2023* | Architecture & Planning | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: this provides comprehensive device control and allows me to control the use of USB devices, printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices. It also provides me granular control over the use of these devices, including read-only access, blocking access, and allowing access with restrictions.Easy-to-use interface: The dashboard provides a real-time view of all connected devices and their status, which makes it easy for me to identify and remediate security risks.
>
> **Cons**: there are a steep learning curve involved and limited customization options throughout the software.Deployment Complexity

It enables IT admins to regulate device access, secure file transfers, enforce USB encryption, monitor user activity, and maintain detailed audits without affecting employee productivity.\nDevice Control Plus helps manage 17+ peripheral device types, including USB storage devices, smartphones, Bluetooth adapters, printers, imaging devices, and other removable hardware. Admins can block unauthorized devices or define read, write, or read-only permissions based on organizational policies. They can also create a trusted device list using serial numbers or device instance paths, use wildcard patterns to approve groups of company-owned devices, and import trusted device lists through CSV files for large-scale deployments. Devices not explicitly approved can be blocked by default, ensuring only authorized hardware is permitted to access endpoints. Access permissions can be assigned based on user roles or custom computer groups, ensuring employees access only the information relevant to their responsibilities.\nAdmins can define file size limits for removable media transfers, restrict specific file types or extensions, and prevent copying of sensitive files to external devices while blocking malicious files from entering managed endpoints. Users are notified instantly whenever a transfer is denied due to policy restrictions.\nDevice Control Plus also supports BitLocker-based USB encryption. Organizations can allow only encrypted USB devices, configure unencrypted devices as read-only or block them completely, and prompt users to encrypt removable media before transferring files. When BitLocker encryption is enforced through Device Control Plus, the recovery keys generated are automatically stored and managed centrally, simplifying recovery while securing data using 128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption.\nTemporary device access enables admins to provide device access to third-party vendors, contractors, and employees for a short period of time. Access requests require explicit admin approval, and support offline access codes for users working outside the corporate network.\nDevice Control Plus provides complete visibility into file movement through file shadowing and file tracing. Mirror copies of files transferred to USB devices can be automatically stored in secure network locations, while detailed logs capture file names, locations, users, timestamps, and files excluded from shadowing because of size or extension restrictions.\nComprehensive dashboards, reports, and audit logs provide insights into device usage, user activities, and file transfers. Audit logs can also be retained for specific periods to support internal governance and regulatory compliance requirements.\nBy combining device access control, trusted device management, secure file transfers, USB encryption, temporary access, file auditing, and centralized reporting, ManageEngine Device Control Plus helps organizations strengthen endpoint security and reduce the risk of data exfiltration.","image":"https://gdm-catalog-fmapi-prod.imgix.net/ProductScreenshot/86479823-499f-4772-9c96-4b0607305cf1.png","url":"https://www.getapp.com.au/software/2071273/manageengine-device-control-plus","@id":"https://www.getapp.com.au/software/2071273/manageengine-device-control-plus#software","@type":"SoftwareApplication","publisher":{"@id":"https://www.getapp.com.au/#organization"},"applicationCategory":"BusinessApplication","aggregateRating":{"@type":"AggregateRating","bestRating":5,"ratingCount":8,"ratingValue":4.8},"offers":{"price":"595","@type":"Offer","priceCurrency":"USD"},"operatingSystem":"Cloud, Apple, Windows, Windows on premise"},{"@id":"https://www.getapp.com.au/software/2071273/manageengine-device-control-plus#breadcrumblist","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"name":"Home","position":1,"item":"/","@type":"ListItem"},{"name":"Data Loss Prevention Software","position":2,"item":"/directory/1215/data-loss-prevention/software","@type":"ListItem"},{"name":"ManageEngine Device Control Plus","position":3,"item":"/software/2071273/manageengine-device-control-plus","@type":"ListItem"}]}]}
