> **Pros**: The team work closely with you to ensure that they understand \*your\* business and the  benefits that you need to derive from the implementation.  The dedicated success coach is constantly on hand, along with the superb help desk.  And having a sandbox which is a replica of the live environment meant we had a quick jump to go from playtime to launch.  There is also an easy interface to the development team if you have a good idea that you think should be added to the pipeline.  Overall an intuitive software that lets you "right-size" projects and programmes to enable a portfolio view that you can slice and dice to provide the right views at every level of the business.

> **Pros**: The reporting is definitely the appeal as well as the customisation. The software is simple and easy to learn.

> **Cons**: During an internal feedback session one of the PMs piloting the tool summed the tool up in the following phrase: "Conductor, It's Great in Theory but Not in Practice." Most of the other pilot participants agreed with this sentiment. Where this comment was coming from is that the actual project plan building was difficult for the team to build out relative to a tool like MS Project or JIRA. What people want are quantitatively derived %complete fields, greater parent-child relationships etc. I believe that part of the problem is the fact that every object in Conductor is called 'a task.' What separates a competitor like JIRA from Conductor is that each 'issue type' is designed to look, feel, and act different so as to create that clear differentiation. There is an attempt to create that same concept in Conductor but more needs to be done on this. Creating a project plan ideally should be part art and part science. What that means is you should be able to go and and add all your tasks, milestones etc. seamlessly and be able to click and drag items so the chart displays how you want it to. In that sense it should be an 'artistic' experience similar to how one might build a chart in powerpoint. Where the science comes in is that as you're inputting dates and/or estimated effort the dates of other dependent tasks, milestones etc. should automatically calculate. As days pass and as granular items are completed overall progress, estimated effort etc. should update automatically.

This allowed the finance team to update actuals and the project team could focus on forecastMany of the other tools were focused on project and program management - i.e. what is the next task and is the timeline on track. We made the focus on the delivery of the benefits. Were the benefits on track to be delivered

With conductore you get a lot of help for structuring the project progress, KPI Tracking, Milestones, Risk and a lot of dashboards for e.g. value capture. Additional functionality include Task Management, reviews etc. You can get a quick overview of status of projects and programms. Also you have your own e-learning area.

> **Cons**: This is an add on product, we basically use it for high level tracking of project and programm progress. I think the two areas that could be improved is excel integration and data update, as well as the way the Administration is done in the background (e.g. rights of groups etc.)
