I have under 10 employees, so it was very economical to say the least. > > **Cons**: Towards the end of the 3 year contract, I tried numerous times to contact a representative about my account and questions I had about going forward. I thought standard questions, basically would the costs change after the contract ended, would there be a new contract to sign, etc. It took me many emails back and forth to finally receive concrete answers. That really soured my experience with Heartland and after my contract ended I went forward with another payroll company > > Overall experience was that it was fine for the cost. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles when it comes to processing payroll. The representatives I spoke to were all cordial, respectful, and competent to varying degrees. It just seemed that perhaps Heartland was lacking in supervisory roles. Everyone I initially spoke to couldn't give me the answers I needed and always had to defer to someone higher up...that never would return with any answers.
