About Loom
Loom is a video making solution designed to help businesses facilitate workplace communication through video or screen recording capabilities. It allows users to utilize the web interface to capture screens or record front-facing camera videos and share them via a link with stakeholders.
Key features of Loom include online video sharing, customizable branding, encryption, collaboration, commenting, and animation previews. Designed for engineering, sales, customer success, leadership, and customer support teams, Loom allows users to duplicate or trim video copies, send personalized videos, and receive notifications for every view. Plus, it allows teams to enable "do not disturb" mode whilst recording on Mac devices, in order to avoid unnecessary interruptions.
Loom can either be deployed on-premise or hosted in the cloud. It enables teams to gather content in a library and share specific videos with groups of people by creating public folders or providing limited access using password protection. It facilitates integration with Gmail, Zendesk, Slack, Embedly and more.

I enjoy using loom for making quick presentations for work. I recommend Loom to anyone who might want to use it for content creation or just to make quick videos.
Pros
loom is very easy to use, a plug-and-play kind of situation and I can get my presentations done without much hustle.
Cons
Loom primarily operated as an online tool. This means that users need an internet connection to record and access their videos.

Loom is a must have tool for a remote first scale up

Loom was easily adopted across the organisation with people enjoying the UX/UI and ease to generate high quality content. Loom is riding the way of video content crucial for internal and external alignment as you scale.
Pros
Loom is such an incredibly easy tool to use across the company. We've used a few solutions in the past including slack recordings and clickup but truthfully, Loom has far more powerful capabilities via their rich feature set. Instant embed is a huge feature for us enabling you to simply copy and paste a link. The ability to measure insights and analytics on videos is important given we use Loom for external business development. In addition, the ability to tag others in a video, comment and engage supercharges your ability to work seamlessly across timezones. We have employees all over the world so it's crucial.
Cons
The biggest challenge was whether we actually choose a dedicated video platform (additional charges + additional learning internally and yet another tool). ClickUp is getting far more sophisticated with recordings and of course, you want to consolidate as much as you possibly can. In saying that, in the end, Loom is too good and we decided to use alongside other tools.

Horrible experience with Loom - warning everyone

I used Loom for 2 months, and experienced several instances of video recording randomly stopping. There was no pattern to it and no explanation. Randomly, it would just stop recording mid video. However, the infuriating part is that THERE IS NO INDICATION THE RECORDING HAS STOPPED. I'd just keep making video, hit save, and find out my 5 minute video was actually a 37 second video, and I'd just wasted a bunch of time. This has been an issue that has plagued me since day one, and I have attempted to reach out to support only to learn THERE IS NO SUPPORT. It's just a feature request system - it's a joke. This is a terrible tool, it has wasted hours of productivity, and I would strongly caution anyone from using it. It is unreliable and there is no support.
Pros
At first glance, Loom seemed like a great screen recording tool that saved time.
Cons
Screen recording feature randomly fails - you'll be making a video to explain something to someone, and recording will stop. However, you won't *know* recording has stopped, so you'll waste minutes talking away, hit save, and find out your video didn't fully record. Infuriating.

Overall my experience with look has been great. I really appreciate how easy it is to create a video of myself and share the link with others. I use Loom to send videos when I apply for jobs on Upwork and I have used them as training material as well. Before Loom I used YouTube and the process with YouTube is definitely more tideous. Loom is much more straightforward and simple to use.
Pros
I like how easy it is to record and share videos online with Loom
Cons
It was a bit tricky for me to learn how to switch from the circle in the video to a full screen video of myself. I think this transition can be easier.
