REDUCED TIME-RELATED TO DATA CAPTURING and cloud-based - no backup needed or software updates

The support is very basic and no real solutions are provided. If you have an issue with Xero - you are on your own!!!!

Xero has been a useful tool for my business for the past 8+ years, and I use it in conjuction with my accountant to keep track of my business accounts. It's a handy way to code account transactions, and also see how my business is performing.
Pros
Super easy to track and stay on top of my business financials.
Cons
It can be hard to get help and support, and also to set up new reports.

Pros
There are so many incredible features from the short term cash summary, we import our budget into Xero and then monitor it on a monthly basis with the budget variance tool being incredible. We create all POs in Xero so that everyone in the business spending money ensures that finance are aware. Then we send out quotes for existing customers via Xero quoting too.
Cons
The reporting imo is limited. I would love to have more SAS focused reporting where I can look at my invoices and track what is MRR, what is expansion revenue and then create reports to track them - rather than having to use other software to do this.

It is simple to use and has all the core functionality that you need.
Cons
We are expanding globally, and Xero does not deal well with that. We have had to licence localised versions of Xero that we need to then manually consolidate. I am aware the Xero marketplace does offer some solutions, but there are also all in one solutions available where you deal with a single vendor.

Overall I can't imagine using different software. We briefly used Sage for payroll and it was too detailed and clunky, with Xero it was an easy setup and efficient process each time.
Pros
Simplicity and ease of use. You don't have to be a qualified accountant to be able to use it, but if you are, the whole system is very helpful and you can automate so much!
Cons
The support takes time to get your ticket answered but when it is, any follow-ups are quick.

Xero also has enabled us to learn better and more efficient ways of handling our finances through accurate budgeting and expenses tracking.

The financial reporting features that provide eye-opening insights about where our organization stands financially. Xero has budgeting and expenses tracking tools that help us manage and properly utilize our financial resources. Xero has very advanced data security features that keep our sensitive financial data secure from unauthorized access. It offers outstanding bookkeeping tools that allows us to keep all financial documents and receipts organized for easier referencing.

I have manage our Holiday Requests, Salaries, P&L, and quotations through XERO for over 3 years now and yet to have any issues with this platform. Salaries are all paid as expected and we can manage the business effectively because of this platform.
Pros
As a Director within my business, XERO gives me realtime information that allows me to manage the expectations of our shareholders using the accounting programme within XERO accounting reports.
Cons
The API feed to the banking page can often be slow and doesn't accurately show the latest figures. But as far as a quick glance goes this is an adequate tool.

This software is very user-friendly and customisable. It is very good for small businesses to keep track of their quotes and easily convert those quotes into invoices to show a clear journey from quote to invoice to paid work completed.
Pros
You have the ability to create a quote, add your own notes and narrative, save templates, and convert quotes into invoices, all going directly to the customer and requesting them to pay using the method that makes sense for your small business.
Cons
Seemingly unable to set a budget limit for a project, attribute hours towards it, and to let you know once this has reached it's limit/not exceeded it.

The Xero experience is nothing short of amazing! The user interface is very easy to navigate so anyone can use it. There are various report that can be extracted to create various client reports. They have quarterly updates to keep up with the new trends and address new client concerns.
Pros
They have quarterly updates. Meaning, everything is up to par with what is latest in the market. It is continuously improving to help more more clients and target bottlenecks encountered in the operations. Plus the customer service is top notched :)
Cons
There are some updates that caused some hiccups in the payroll processing. However, all have been addressed.

I use Xero daily on my job. It is a very flexible tool, especially for startups. You can set up a company in minutes if you know what you are doing. A nice tool overall, up to a mid sized company.
Pros
Easy to use, company set up is fast, can be used in many different countries, flexible, good for startups in their earliest days. Very flexible chart of accounts allows you to make any kind of setup you like.
Cons
Regionalization for some countries with complex VAT is not great (Portugal, Serbia). Sometimes it is hard to reconcile invoices with bank statements.
