I have only been using an email newsletter for 6 months, so I’m new to email marketing. Email Octopus has a straightforward list management tool that I find easy to use. I like that my dashboard gives me my recent campaign stats. For someone like myself who is just starting to build a list, the price is great and the functionality is simple and easy to understand and execute.

Now that I’m 6 months in with Email Octopus, I wish they had some deeper engagement tracking per subscriber - i.e. location, time of open. Some deeper engagement tracking would help in understanding how, when, and where subscribers are interacting with the campaign.

It's free for my needs, it was easy, and it has templates that were simple for me to figure out.

Making a template *before* starting a campaign almost hung me up, but now that I know, I know!

Used email octopus for more than two year. It is a cost effective email marketing tool which allows basic functionality of contact management along with email marketing setup.

Not much of the customization is possible in email octopus when it comes to email templates.

It's user friendly, and it's free. I found out about EmailOctopus when Mailchimp started charging extortionate fees for having 1500+ subscribers. Email Octopus was a great alternative.

Some of the features are still a little basic, so I look forward to some new and improved design options in the future (fonts, shapes, etc)

The creation of the newsletter is really intuitive, they offer good prices.

I had some troubles with multiple users feature.

Ease of access. I juggle 3 companies at once and EO helps easily navigate different campaigns!

One con is Embedded Videos. I'd love to see this option revamped down the road.

Also, I wish there was a support line even if I have to pay for a tiered service the option would be nice.

I love how easy EmailOctopus is to use. I can make a professional email in less than five minutes to draw in new customers. My clients have told me that they look forward to getting my emails. Thanks EmailOctopus!

I don't see any cons. I love EmailOctopus.

Email Octopus is easy to get started and has useful DIY options for theming.

It took a little extra time to figure out what the required tags were when using a custom theme.

It's easy to use and the free plan is quite generous

Sometimes the blocks get a bit wonky when I am trying to move them. It's never been an issue ongoing, but can be frustrating at times.

Easy to work with, easy to add an opt-in form

It has been very easy for me here. Could be because I have worked through kinks in other similar programs.

EmailOctopus is flexible in their pricing. Instead of suddenly breaking into an expensive category because of additional subscribers, EmailOctopus has a gentler system. They even reduce the charge if you lose subscribers! Perfect for someone like me with a modest budget.

The dashboard was a little bit difficult to negotiate at first, and the emails hard to design until I got the knack--now it's not hard at all.

Simplicity of use, and yet it is extremly reliable and feature rich.

Reliabilitiy and sticking with formula that works. Over the years there are constant improvements... but general forumla of being very simple and practical to use always stays. Kudos!

Very reasonably priced and decent features for basic newsletters and list building.

Some processes are convoluted compared to others in this category. Templates aren't as pretty as Constant Contact or Flodesk, and the template design process can be a little buggy and frustrating.

The ease of use of the interface, the email testing capability before sending and delivery analytics.

I would have loved the integration of AI into their email writing canvas

What I like most about EmailOctopus is its ability to integrate Payhip, the website that houses my e-Books. This feature has helped me to simultaneously build my contact email with each order processed.

So far, I have not experienced any cons with incorporating EmailOctopus into my business.

It was super easy for us to upload our list of contacts, and to update that list using spreadsheets. We love the value of our monthly subscription, which was almost half the cost of MailChimp, but provides us with plenty of emails for the size of our contact list, and allows us to do segmentation and have multiple users. The campaign/email creator tool is easy to use.

Navigating between the Setup/Design/Content/Send portions of the Campaigns form is a little frustrating because you can't jump from setup to content, for example.

EmailOctopus automates the entire process of marketing by creating and customizing high volume outbound marketing emails.

EmailOctopus has few free templates for creating landing pages.

Low price with the capability to send mass emails and campaigns.

The reports are limited. There are some design options that are minimal and restrict a user from taking their campaign to the next level.
