Dropbox, an incredible platform to protect and store documents, to share them with coworkers.

I have used Dropbox in both Windows and MacOS environments and its behavior is extremely stable. A learning curve is not required for its use, since it is quite intuitive, and frees us from worrying about the protection and correct storage of our documents, to deal with the most important thing, which is precisely the operation of our company.
Pros
One of the features that I have loved the most is selective synchronization, since it allows me to keep the documents that I work with regularly updated, and not occupy additional local space on my device for those directories that have documents that I am not working on. So, when I spend periods of time on my laptop without connecting and I decide to access Dropbox, the synchronization will be fast and effective.
Cons
There are great features in Dropbox that we learn as we use it or investigate how it works; for example: a blue folder with a person symbol is a shared folder, maybe with some difference for mobile apps or desktop app. In the same way, we have excellent icons that let us know when a folder is shared with others or that it has been shared with me instead. In general, it is very intuitive and its usability can be described as excellent.

Dropbox for Business does not offer security settings for subfolders. Data loss prevention measures can be implemented, but as third parties are involved, implementing this sharing system may take longer. This is time that some companies may not have. These pros and cons of Dropbox for Business show that this sharing system is designed to be comprehensive, but only when the product includes third-party functionality. This can increase costs.
Pros
Synchronization: Dropbox lets you effortlessly synchronize files once they've been uploaded to an account.A very user-friendly experienceThe ability to limit access to shared data
Cons
This is an expensive solution for the average small business owner.Sometimes it can be difficult to find folders or files.

Overall, this is a great software option for companies to use if they don't need very robust security features (ie HIPPA/FERPA) options. It is very easy for multiple teams and companies to work together to house documents and see what version of the document they are looking at. The software is easy to sync up to a desktop and always ensure that the web version vs your desktop is the same. It is also easy to see comments and who updated the latest version of the document. The way that the documents are organized could use to some work, but overall, this is a good product that can house a lot of documents in the same place and are accessible via mobile and desktop in a very simple way. No set up is needed and no in depth tech knowledge is needed, which is a great option for any company to be able to allow anyone to administer the account.
Pros
The nice part about Dropbox is that it is pretty easy to use and has a free option if you are looking to use it for personal use. The software is easy to switch between mobile and desktop and has a pretty basic way to organize documents, pictures, etc in folders. It is also easy to share the docs/folders with a link or make them public, if needed. We utilize this software to share documents across multiple companies for different projects and house the different versions of the documents in a single place.
Cons
Security updates are lacking when compared to alternatives like Box. We need to keep a very specific set of security functionality for our documents in the higher education industry and Dropbox is not meeting the needs of our industry any longer; therefore, we have to be selective on what documents we are using the software for now. I am sure that Dropbox will update their security functions soon, but in the meantime, we have to be selective on what we use it for. Would be nice if you could organize documents in a different way to make it more efficient to find what you are looking for, as well as comments. I do like that you can see which version of a doc you are looking at right way; however, it is still a pretty old school mentality for organization and collaboration vs all of the other software out there now. This is a good repository to house documents (if it meets your security standards) but doesn't meet the ever changing needs of a robust collaboration tool that we needed it for.

Once I began growing my company Dropbox was essential. It allowed me to collaborate with my subordinates and I was able to easily upload documents for them to review and use for the customers we were working with. I can also send lending institutions links to the folder if I can't use the google share feature because of their firewall.
Pros
The amount of space I got for free! Also, the file sharing, and document management. It is so convenient to be able to edit the dropbox folder right from my windows explorer. I have the dropbox folder on my quick access tollbar.
Cons
I have had an issue with folder I made. For some reason it keeps saying I need administrator access to delete the file, but I am the administrator. It's not a huge deal but it is a little annoying because the folder is rather large and I can't delete it. It's taking up valuable space.

Pros
I liked that we could store information from a computer and transfer it to a mobile phone without having to send emails and have the information from any computer linked to the user.
Cons
the cost of this platform per user was very expensive and if the user really used it for storage it could be profitable but if not it was too expensive to be an information channel.

Still better than not having a shared server at all. Has a large amount of space offered so we don't have to worry about losing files. Licenses and teams are also easy to manage.
Pros
The ability to access files anytime, anywhere, especially from a mobile device. Intuitive and always evolving to be better. It's also widely known so most people don't need much training on it.
Cons
Lack of customer support - they just refer you to guides and FAQs. We also received no help in our initial setup and after having the software for a while, there are countless things we could have done better to share and organize our folders.
Glitchy sometimes - on multiple occasions I had to completely uninstall and reinstall the desktop app to make it work
Files are not collaborative enough. At this point, you'd imagine Dropbox would work like google sheets where you and someone else can edit the same document at the same time. But instead, you have to deal with conflicted duplicate files.
Billing could be explained better. We have multiple entities in our business and need to split our bill regularly but dropbox doesn't make it easy to code specific users or licenses to specific entities under the overarching business account

I love it!
Pros
Love the functionality and custom settings.
Love that I can choose not to sync or “online only” folders.
Love that I can connect my personal account to my business account.
Love how much space we get.
Love that we can use Dropbox as a server for our small org.
LOVE LOVE LOVE AND NEED the automatic saving / versioning. This has saved us so many times. This is the main reason, along with using it as a file server, that we pay for Dropbox.
Cons
The price is very steep in my opinion.
Many people I know and work with do not use Dropbox because of the cost.
It drives me absolutely insane that business requires at least three users. That’s insane to me! Insane.
The other thing that is very troublesome is that it doesn’t automatically lock files when you’re working on them and someone else opens the same file. It has some integration that sometimes provides warnings through Excel, but other file types are completely at risk of having conflicting copies. This is very tricky for the non-tech savvy and it is a weakness.
Most of what I love comes with the paid version. As a free product, I can see it annoying people as they near their limits.

my overall experience has been positive. there has been some issues as with any service, but dropbox has been great to work with and has been helpful.
Adding the FTP capability a couple of years ago has been a huge upgrade to the account and makes me want to stick with them indefinitely
Pros
Dropbox has been my go-to software for over 5 years. We use dropbox to collaborate between video projects, graphic projects, and photo projects. We have editors all over the world and nothing works better than dropbox. I've tried using google drive multiple times, but dropbox's desktop sync has been the best thing for our collaboration.
Transferring files to clients have been so simple on both ends. Every time we've sent files using google drive, we've had nothing but problems.
Dropbox makes it super easy to send files and to gather files.
Their file request functionality has been amazing to work with and makes it easy to collaborate with clients outside of our dropbox network.
Cons
The syncing can be a little slow especially with large files, but our work around is using an FTP client to log into dropbox to download and upload files directly to and from dropbox.
sometimes we'll have syncing issues, but their file conflict solution has made it manageable to work with but still needs some work.
the pricing it through the roof, but when you break it down into it's benefits, it's not so bad—but i do find myself constantly talking myself into the price being ok every time that annually payment goes through.
Reasons for Choosing Dropbox Business
we had so many issues with google drive from downloading, uploading, and sharing files with clients. Pros
I’ve loved Dropbox and been using it for nearly 10 years. When our company was looking to get off of the old school server system Dropbox Business seemed like the natural choice especially because so many on the team had already used Dropbox personally. The amount of storage and options was super helpful for us and allowing us to get rid of remote access but still access our files was just what was needed.
Cons
It’s tough when employees have personal and business accounts. With people’s natural instinct to protect their own info it’s crucial for them to feel that they can use both accounts but toggling back and forth is not a feature that works well.

Pros
The thing I love most is that this is software that lives on your computer, as opposed to only in the cloud. I know that when I drop something into my folder, it will be available to all others on our team.
Cons

Dropbox business has impacted the way we run our departments significantly; making our processes more streamline and efficient in a lot of ways. Where previously, reports had to be attached in email and sent from one unit to the other, Dropbox now allows us to share them with multiple users by just dragging and dropping. Apart from solving the file storage loophole of that system, the desktop alerts and notifications also allows all team members stay alert to updates and subsequent steps.
Pros
What I like most about Dropbox is that access can be granted or restricted per user not only to the folder level, but also to the file level. This has made our electronic filing system exceptionally cleaner; where previously we had to separate clients' files into different folders and restrict access to those containing folders simply to limit unauthorized access, we can now have everything in one folder, but restrict access based on user's account types.
Cons
For security purposes, I think a single account should have different levels of control specific to each device they have synced to their account. We have had a few cases where mobile devices with synced dropbox accounts were stolen and lost. Personal computers which are less likely to be lost can be allowed to access the full range of control while mobile devices have limited control.

Dropbox's automatic syncing app does a fantastic job of backing up your important documents. You can save time and keep all important documents safe with this feature. I would recommend it to anyone regardless of the cons.
Pros
Dropbox comes installed on most Windows devices, or so I think (I think our workplace installed it for us). I set AutoSave on my Microsoft Office work to save documents as I type, which is a huge time saver. It has a neat user interface, which is perfect for an office setting. Regarding performance and accessibility, it's quick to respond and does not take time to load files. Dropbox is a cloud-based application that allows me to access my documents from anywhere in the world, meaning I do not need to carry around a flash disk. Overall, Dropbox is an excellent program I could recommend to anyone.
Cons
Often, it's impossible to share files with people who don't have Dropbox accounts. The alternative is to ask them to sign up for an account, which is often not feasible. However, Once you get the hang of Dropbox, it's very convenient and easy to use.

Not very pleasant. Highly annoying. You cannot get support staff on the line to walk you through.
Pros
I went onto Dropbox about 6 years ago when we required our documents to be stored in the cloud and teams could collaborate by accessing documents to work on.
It works fine if you are just working on selected documents as they you can store what is only required and access them without any complications.
Cons
After I commenced using this software, I thought it would be a good idea to "replicate" my hard drive on my desktop computer into Dropbox in the cloud. This is where the challenge came in. I would have expected a mirror image of my desktop computer. However, I had to recreate directories and then upload my documents, which took forever. Dropbox speed is extremely slow although I have a very fast internet connection. Furthermore, when I wish to access my documents, it:
a) takes forever to bring documents up
b) brings them up in different formats - example: a Word document will not open again in my Word software, or an Excel Document in my Excel software. Instead, it opens it up on a similar format that is foreign to me.
I must be able to access my document, it should open back in the original software provided I have it on the computer I am using, and I should be able to work on it and resend it back into the cloud. Dropbox lacks this and this is annoying.
This is just one of the challenges I face.
Their utilities menu is not easily understandable and one has to navigate and look for options which makes it highly annoying. Perhaps Dropbox should ask users what they require and develop their platform according to users requirements instead of trying to fit users into their BOX. I may not renew my subscription once it expires as I have downloaded all my files back to my hard drive and am not uploading anymore.

It's good for syncing files from one computer to another (e.g. work, home, mobile). I would not say it is good (or cost-effective) as a business cloud file storage service. Perhaps it is beneficial as a business's cloud backup of their local server.
Pros
Smart Sync allows you to to sync files on-demand. This allows you to see files in the folder(s) via Windows Explorer without actually having to download those files onto your hard drive, which is the difference between Smart Sync and the "less-premium" Selective Sync. This is essential if you are intending to utilize Dropbox as a true cloud server in the same way you might utilize a local file server. Without Smart Sync, if someone on your team (or shared folder) uploads or changes a bunch of files, then everyone starts downloading/syncing those files and it kills your internet speeds. OneDrive has this capability, but requires Windows 10. Google's G Suite just added this functionality as well.
Office 365 Integration/Badge is OK. It's not as good as utilizing OneDrive (which is included in O365) because it does not let you edit documents simultaneously in real-time. Multiple people can open a document at the same time, but you can only work in the document and save one-at-at-time. It at least notifies you that someone else is in the file.
Paper seems neat and you can add Slack integration so that's cool too.
Cons
I do not understand how they can charge so much for their Business plans. The only service being provided is document storage, so you have to compare it with MS OneDrive or Google Drive. Chances are, your MS or Google subscription includes OneDrive/Drive anyway so why would anyone want to pay extra for Dropbox? The only benefit is the on-demand syncing (OneDrive requires Windows 10), but you can get the same feature from Google Drive for half the price, as well as document-creating apps and simultaneous editing/collaboration (as opposed to simply being notified that someone else is currently editing the file, so wait your turn).
There is no way to create a file directly from the Dropbox web version...because there are no document-creating tools provided. OneDrive and Google Drive both allow you to create a new document directly from the web version of their services.
You cannot add tags or comments to a document. Both of which would help with organizing the document and finding it later.
The search feature is very basic. It would be nice to have some advanced search criteria (e.g. "pictures", "PDFs", date ranges, authors, owners, etc.)
You can only share folders among team members. The only way to share specific files is by using a URL, which then makes the file accessible to the entire world, so long as someone can guess the URL. If someone isn't on your team, they can only VIEW files (or you have to give URL access, opening it up to the entire world).

Safe, Simple, and Secure

Dropbox Business has proven to be worth exponentially more than the cost of maintaining its services. The sheer convenience of being able to access necessary information by staff regardless of where they are located saves us significantly more money and increases our productivity. The additional benefits of having the ability to restrict access to certain documents removes the fear that lower level employees might access sensitive information for which they are unauthorized and also ensures that the staff members that need access have the information immediately available to them. Finally, the security provided by Dropbox Business allows us to maintain compliance with industry requirements and standards so that we are not open to having confidential information breached. After fully integrating our files into Dropbox Business, I cannot imagine having to return to a paper filing system.
Pros
Dropbox for Business has allowed us to transition from an old-fashioned paper filing system to an efficient cloud-based storage system that is not only exponentially more convenient but also incredibly secure. Our files are able to be accessed from any location, and the time it takes to find specific information has been drastically reduced due to the search features in Dropbox. Furthermore, the ability to limit access to certain files and folders to certain levels of staff allows all of our staff to access all the information they need without providing access to sensitive information that is restricted to upper-level staff. With Dropbox's features, our ability to access vital information in a timely manner while maintaining information security has never been better.
Cons
Transitioning from a paper filing system to an online one was a lengthy process. For several weeks, we had to operate redundant systems while we scanned and transferred our existing files into Dropbox. In hindsight, if we had realized the amount of time and effort this transition would take, we would have explored options to have a third party company perform a mass migration of our files so that we could transition from all-paper to exclusively digital at once.

Dropbox does everything right, from its boundless capacity alternative to its long list of third-party integrative. Commerce clients have everything they require, but that comes at a cost. Dropbox’s family as a capacity supplier carries a tall cost tag. That cost is worth it, but depending on how numerous workers you've got, it still may be as well much. If you'll foot the charge, you’ll discover an fantastically easy-to-use capacity benefit, notwithstanding of your company estimate. Be that as it may, ease of utilize is favored over security, and in spite of the fact that it’s been nearly a decade since Dropbox’s information breach, we still have a few questions when it comes to protection
Pros
Whether it's sharing records for work or making robotized reinforcements for basic records so that you'll never lose them, Dropbox is fabulous as a multi-purpose stage. "Our association utilizes Dropbox, a superb distributed storage framework, for document allotment, Enormous limit with respect to putting away and keeping up with a lot of information in the cloud. With just Dropbox access, we can store documents and have them readily available at whatever point we really want them. What we've viewed as the most helpful part of Dropbox is its easy to use interface, as well as the straightforwardness with which correspondence and improvement can be done between the client and the program, which permits us to save and access our documents from any area. It is undeniably more easy to understand than Adobe, iCloud, or OneDrive, and sharing documents is pretty much as basic as clicking a solitary button. Records can be transferred to distributed storage through simplified or physically. The work area application's synchronization is close awesome. On this stage, we additionally get 4GB of free space regardless. The connection between the program and the client can develop without being novel. "
Pros
The fundamental benefit is: Dropbox is very well known among purchasers. Numerous representatives likely have utilized Dropbox previously and are know about it. So taking on Dropbox is probably not going to confront obstruction.Other than that, there are not many benefits. A little organization could like its effortlessness (and absence of cutting edge highlights). Be that as it may, Dropbox administration doesn't function admirably for enormous organizations. On the off chance that an organization has numerous PCs/gadgets to match up, Dropbox's envelope synchronization administration is exceptionally wasteful. It squanders a great deal of organization data transmission and nearby extra room. As business information is synchronized to numerous PCs/gadgets, besides the fact that it squanders nearby extra room, yet additionally it makes security issues. Information break can occur on any one PC/gadget, and it is extremely difficult to forestall/distinguish.

Fast and reliable file syncing with a ton of great features
Reviewed on 14/06/2018
Pros
My team uses Dropbox Business to sync files across devices and share documents both amongst ourselves and with external audiences.
The tight integration with the Finder on Mac means we can treat our Dropbox folders as our default file storage location and not worry about what is or isn't being synced. The 2TB of storage is more than many people even have on their computer to begin with, so we never worry about running out of space.
One of my favorite features is the ability to save, by default, all your screenshots to Dropbox. As a result, when I capture something on my screen, it automatically gets saved to the cloud and saves the link to my clipboard. So my workflow of sharing a screenshot is super quick.
I also love the ability to selectively sync certain files. That's great for large video files that I want to have access to without taking up space on my laptop's limited hard drive.
The granular controls for sharing certain files and folders also makes collaboration a breeze. We deal with a lot of creative assets like logos, color palettes, etc., and sharing a single folder with all of that stuff is one of our favorite features.
Cons
The various types of licenses has really expanded in recent years, and led to some confusing tiers. I worry that they might be headed down a path similar to apps like Evernote where the developers fall victim to scope creep. For instance, Dropbox apps like Paper are interesting, but ultimately not too much more useful than other document collaboration apps like Google Drive (which also allows editing from non-business tier users).

The most convenient cloud storage service
Reviewed on 09/12/2015
Pros
Cost - There is a free plan available, with no hidden charges leaping out at users at any time.
Capacity - Users are given 2 GB of storage capacity. This may not seem like much, but it is certainly plenty to start off with. Adding storage is also possible - and without incurring charges. Users have a whole array of free options to increase their storage capacity, including, among others:
Invite friends/ acquaintances to Dropbox Connect Dropbox to Facebook/ Twitter Send Fan mails
Convenience - Extremely easy to use, Dropbox can either be used online or by installing the Dropbox application. This is quick, easy to do and allows automatic saving/ synchronisation of files between devices (which should also have the application installed) without having to use a browser.
Accessibility - With the app installed, it is possible to access files from wherever I am, any time on any device, even if offline at the time (the Dropbox folders on all devices are updated automatically every time a file is saved). I am able to download only required files in order to save space.
Sharing - I can share files with other individuals or public by designating folders to specific users or enabling them for public sharing.
Back-up - Dropbox is a convenient solution to backing up files in a safe and easy to access fashion. By storing files in the cloud, data sticks, CDs, DVDs and other easily lost or damaged storage devices - and the cost involved - become a thing of the past.
What's more, deleting files accidentally will not result in losing them, because Dropbox keeps easy to retrieve copies of all deleted files for 30 days.
- The upcoming Dropbox Paper.
Cons
The paid plans are expensive compared to other cloud services.
Dropbox is not as effective for collaborative work as rivals such as Google Docs or Microsoft Office 365. If changes are made to an online spreadsheet file, the first person to finish wins and the competing changes are saved to a separate file.
Security concerns arise when storing important and sensitive data on Dropbox.
